Northern California is awesome!
In Truckee right now for the fourth of July.
Art is great in California. In the bay area it really takes off. I have a friend named Casey who is an emerging artist. He has some big profile work and some underground stuff that he loves. He is always doing new things. I have gone with him to two openings in SF and we have talked about going to APECON for several years running. Super cool. He knows Matt Furie too, which my brother loves. It would be great to get my brother a Matt Furie print.

I like Yelp! Make me Elite!
Please.
ALCATRAZ.
If you have never been to ALCATRAZ then let me make the following suggestions.
1. Rent THE ROCK, watch it, and visit ALCATRAZ.
2. Rent THE BIRDMAN OF ALCATRAZ, watch it and visit ALCATRAZ.
3. Visit ALCATRAZ on HALLOWEEN NIGHT!
I went to ALCATRAZ the first time this year.
I know right, and I am a fucking NATIVE of California.
I never went because I thought it was super-touristy and I am one of those kind of assholes who will talk shit on something without trying it. I am getting better but it is a long time coming. But seriously, I think collard greens and kombucha are nasty, but I have never tried them.
Anyways, being tangential here. I went to ALCATRAZ on a super great day in San Francisco. I mean it was so great that people were wearing shorts and a few nudists showed up at Dolores Park.
Great Day.
The weather was boss. We took the ferry, I am a sucker for boats, and when we got off I was hit with so much awesome, in a history/cultural haymaker, that I didn’t know whether to shit or go blind. Now I am just trying to hard. Anyways, I liked it a lot.
CHROME. I think CHROME is awesome. I have a CHROME BAG, CHROME SHOES and a CHROME WATER BOTTLE. I rock the bag all the time and I clean it, because I love it so much. CHROME did a thing last year where if you mailed them a pair of used shoes, they would send you a brand-new pair of CHROME shoes. Companies don’t really do this anymore and it is a no-brainer why. Anyways, it was awesome, and I got a pair of BROWN CHROME SHOES BRAND NEW FOR FREE! So fucking rad. God bless San Francisco for being the city Chrome is based out of. In fact, God Bless San Francisco period.
Gardening in California FTW. The large polo-wearing creature lumbering past the immense tomato foliage is my father. He is harvesting tomato worms to eat with fava beans. One thing I love about California is the ability to have great produce. This harvest, which you cannot really tell, I planted WAY TOO MANY tomatoes, and we had a kick ass summer, so everybody got tomatoes. I am a fan of heirlooms and romas. Heirlooms are so fucking pretty you never want to eat them. Romas go great in pastas or salads or pastasalads. Gardening, the most hippie thing about me.
